Water

I have always consumed tap water as I am reluctant to spend money on bottled water. I hear there is a device or jug one can buy which removes the chemicals from the tap water. Is this worth considering? Please advise.Thanks for your full and well-informed replies to my previous questions on this forum. It is so helpful  and informative.Neil
