Effects of 'Artificial' Fertilizer on Raw Milk?

Hi,

I am in the process of developing relationship with a 'new' source of raw milk - he is based in N.E. Derbyshire close to Chesterfield.

His cows are pasteurised and wintered on hay from his own meadows. Upon further questioning his meadows are treated with artificial fertilizer - but nothing else!

I am going to press him on the details of the fertilizer he uses. Meanwhile I've just delivered his Green Top Milk to my mother and some of my children/grandchildren most of whom (ok - ALL of them) are amazed at the richness of the milk!

Given the relationship between milk and the cows' feeds does anyone have any info on effects of artificial fertilizers on raw milk. There seems to be plenty of info regarding the effects of herbicides and pesticides? I hope to be able to suggest an alternative, much cheaper organic fertilizer to him soon!!!

Despite the artificial fertilzer we intend to continue using this raw milk whilst we make further investigations, his raw milk has to be far superior to the pasteurized rubbish supplied!!! This farmer delivers 400 pints daily to his regulars who live within a one mile radius of his farm. He needs at least 24 hours notice for us to collect the milk.

As soon as I can, I shall request his permission to list him on Natural Food Finder! If anyone is interested please feel free to give me your contact details and expected quantity and I shall be happy to ask him to contact you?

Hope you can help with requested info - with

Very best regards,

Tony
