I recently had to use some oat based breakfast cereal to make Flapjacks, because I didn't have enough oats, but the raisins, nuts and coconut in it made for really nice Flapjacks. Easy to keep organic too.

I like your way of thinking, it is a great idea adding some nuts and raisons to a flap jack recipe but remember to use butter not margarine. it's important to use good wholesome natural products. Unfortunatley cereals in general cannot replace organic oats. Here's a reminder of the ceral blog for those interested : http://www.naturalfoodfinder.org/puffedcereals
One recent fad in some of the newer and more upsclae restaurants has been the replacement of butter for spreading on bread with a plate or bowl of olive oil for dipping bread. What is somewhat amusing and ironical is the fact that the butter is only 80% fat while the olive oil is 100% fat.
Fab flapjacks
