Pasteurised milk sold in supermarkets has been heated to 72 degrees celcius for 15 to 30 seconds, driven through a homogenisation unit to obliterate the fat particles so they never collect as cream again and finally standardised to three different levels of fat content supposedly to meet customer demand. All of these steps damage the nutrents in the milk but offer one benefit to the dairies - they extend shelf life and make distribution in bulk tanks easier.

Raw milk has been proven to cure conditions such as asthma, eczema and hayfever. Just a couple of glasses a week can reduce the chances of developing eczema by almost 40 per cent and hayfever by 10 per cent according to an study published in the Lancet.
